Rockstar sets “An Extended Look” for August 27
The publisher scheduled a long-form GTA 6 presentation for August 27, 2026, and named the platform and hour without describing the content.
On August 6, 2026, Rockstar Games announced Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, a long-form presentation of the game, under the headline “Coming August 27 to Netflix and YouTube”. The announcement sets two showings on the same day: the Netflix premiere at 3 p.m. ET on Thursday, August 27, then the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI site at 9 p.m. ET. The official site carries the same billing, checked on August 11, 2026.
What the announcement does not do is describe the programme. There is no published runtime, no scene list, no feature checklist and no promise of a specific reveal. Coverage that already claims to know what the presentation contains is not working from a publisher record.
The six-hour gap between the two showings matters if you are not a Netflix subscriber: the free route exists and is published by Rockstar itself, at 9 p.m. ET on the same date. Anyone telling you the presentation is Netflix-exclusive has not read the announcement.
