Take-Two sought a Discord subpoena over GTA VI
An August 20 federal filing ties Take-Two's request directly to Grand Theft Auto VI — and stops short of identifying anyone or proving that Discord has handed over data.
On August 20, 2026, Take-Two Interactive filed a request in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York asking the clerk to issue a DMCA subpoena to Discord. The filing says the purpose is to identify the alleged infringer or infringers.
The request explicitly says the disputed material infringes copyrights held by Take-Two for Grand Theft Auto VI, which it describes as proprietary software. That sentence is the primary trace this page needed: Take-Two itself connected its legal request to the game in a court filing.
What the document does not establish matters just as much. It does not identify a proven leaker, prove who posted anything, show that Discord has produced records, or turn the filing into a lawsuit against a named defendant. It records what Take-Two asked the clerk to issue and why.
This page deliberately does not describe or link to the leaked material. The publishable event is Take-Two's response: a dated court request aimed at identifying alleged infringers and protecting its copyright. The filing says information obtained through the subpoena would be used only for that purpose.
