GTA 6 PS5 release times appear by region
Regional PlayStation Store timestamps suggest different PS5 digital unlock windows, but Sony and Rockstar have not published a final timetable.
Regional PlayStation Store listings point to a staggered digital launch for Grand Theft Auto VI on PS5. GTAVice drew attention to the country-by-country timestamps in a compilation updated on September 8, 2026. Sony’s regional pages checked on September 9 show several different UTC windows around the announced November 19 release date. The practical distinction is between a store’s country and a player’s local clock: midnight in one market can arrive many hours before midnight in another.
The New Zealand listing shows November 18 at 11:00 UTC. In Auckland and Wellington, which use New Zealand daylight time at UTC+13 in November, that converts to November 19 at 00:00. The November 18 date displayed in UTC therefore does not mean a November 18 local launch in those cities. Both dates describe the same instant. New Zealand is the earliest window among the Sony country pages compared here, rather than evidence that every PS5 account can start at that time.
Japan and South Korea each show November 18 at 15:00 UTC. Tokyo and Seoul are nine hours ahead of UTC, making that November 19 at 00:00 locally. Taiwan’s page shows November 18 at 16:00 UTC, equivalent to November 19 at 00:00 in Taipei, eight hours ahead of UTC. The Japanese and Korean windows are four hours after the New Zealand listing; the Taiwanese window follows one hour later. Their shared local date does not make their opening times simultaneous.
The French, Spanish, German, Italian and Polish stores show November 18 at 23:00 UTC. Paris, Madrid, Berlin, Rome and Warsaw will be on Central European Time, UTC+1, so the conversion is November 19 at 00:00 in those cities. This is a city-specific conversion, not a claim about every territory served by a national store. For example, a player travelling elsewhere must convert the store timestamp to their destination’s time zone instead of copying the capital city’s clock.
The United Kingdom listing shows November 19 at 00:00 UTC. London uses UTC in November, so its displayed date and its local date agree: midnight on November 19. That is one hour after the continental-European windows above. At the instant the French or German window opens, it is still 23:00 on November 18 in London. A London player and a Paris player can therefore both have a local-midnight release without their regional listings opening together.
Brazil’s Portuguese-language store lists November 19 at 03:00 UTC. That is November 19 at 00:00 in Brasília, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, which use UTC−3. Brazil has multiple time zones, so midnight in those cities cannot be presented as a single clock reading for everyone in the country. The useful reference for another location is the Brazilian store’s full UTC timestamp, including November 19, followed by a conversion for that location.
The United States listing shows November 19 at 05:00 UTC. In New York, Eastern Standard Time is UTC−5, so this is November 19 at 00:00. In Los Angeles, Pacific Standard Time is UTC−8, making the same instant November 18 at 21:00. Those are two local readings of one US storefront timestamp, not separate East Coast and West Coast store windows. The distinction explains why a US player may see the previous evening even when another player describes the launch as midnight.
For friends comparing the distant ends of these examples, Auckland’s listed window is eighteen hours before the US window. When the New Zealand timestamp arrives, New York’s clock reads 06:00 on November 18. A friend buying through the US store still has eighteen hours until that store’s listed opening. This arithmetic compares the published regional records; it does not establish that buying in another country or changing a console setting will unlock a purchase earlier.
The European, Japanese and Korean pages also list preloading seven days before launch for their Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition on PS5. Downloading files and gaining access are separate events. The seven-day wording does not supply a precise download start hour, and it should not be extended to a store that does not display it. Players planning their installation should check the edition and country page associated with their purchase as well as the release timestamp.
Sony’s account guidance says an account’s country or region cannot be changed after creation. It also says the country should match the customer’s billing information and that available content and services vary by region. To check the setting online, Sony directs users to Account Management, then Your Information and Residential Address. These records concern digital PS5 listings: they do not establish physical-disc availability, an Xbox schedule or a PC release. Store timestamps can change before launch; a later Sony or Rockstar notice may supersede them.
