GTA VI is described as single-player

Take-Two’s June 24 release describes a single-player experience, but does not say whether an online mode will launch with GTA VI.

Take-Two Interactive’s June 24, 2026 release describes Grand Theft Auto VI as a “single-player experience”. That is the publisher’s published description of the game in the pre-order announcement, alongside the November 19, 2026 launch date and the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms.

The same release does not announce an online mode for Grand Theft Auto VI. It mentions GTA Online only as part of the separate GTA+ benefit attached to digital pre-orders and purchases, and it describes that benefit as access to Grand Theft Auto V and other Rockstar titles.

That wording answers one narrow question and leaves another open. The official record supports “single-player experience” as a description of the announced product; it does not establish that an online mode is impossible, cancelled, or absent forever. No launch-day online mode is named in this release.

This is therefore a record of what Take-Two published on June 24, 2026, not a prediction about future plans. Until Rockstar or Take-Two publishes a separate statement, claims about the name, timing, price, or features of a GTA VI online mode remain outside this source.

At Take-Two’s September 17 annual meeting, CEO Strauss Zelnick again called GTA VI a single-player title launching on Xbox and PS5, and said it would launch localized in 13 languages. His answer described Take-Two’s general PC strategy; it did not announce a GTA VI PC version, an online mode, or a schedule for either.

Zelnick also said Take-Two would continue to support GTA V Online. That support is not an announcement about GTA VI online.

For international release, he named Spanish, Portuguese and major European languages, with local marketing activity. The 13-language statement describes localization, not new gameplay features.

His PC answer says platforms with a meaningful audience matter to Take-Two over time. It does not name GTA VI, a platform date, or a PC edition.
